The North Forest Independent School District seeks to provide all students the knowledge and skills necessary to realize their greatest potential. Central to this accomplishment is a visionary and progressive leader who aggressively implements reform systems that increase transformation. Superintendent Edna Forté took the helm at North Forest ISD in 2011, following 20 years as an educator and administrator. Her leadership philosophy recognizes the need to establish meaningful relationships, maintain open collaborative lines of communication, and focus the collective efforts of the entire organization on outcomes that serve the best interest of youth.

During her tenure in the North Forest Independent School District, Superintendent Forte’ has facilitated a number of innovative initiatives aimed at closing the achievement gap. The district’s strategic plan ensures that all students achieve at higher levels and that the district holds itself publically accountable. Under her leadership, the graduation rate has increased, the fiscal fund balance has grown, and the district has seen an increase in the overall number of students excelling via a more rigorous course of study.

Beyond postgraduate degrees and certifications, Superintendent Forté is affiliated with several professional organizations including the Texas Association of School Business Administrators, The American Leadership Forum, Houston A+ Challenge Executive Leadership Council, and The National Leadership Institute. In 2011, she was recognized by the Texas Black Caucus as an Outstanding Community Leader Honoree in recognition of her contributions to building equitable and diverse communities.
