Since its establishment in 1981, The North Forest I. S. D. Police Department is dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and tranquil working and educational environment to the approximately 8000 students and staff of the North Forest Independent School District. The department, partnering in the community, extends its professional police and resource services to the visitors, residents and other law enforcement agencies within the North Forest Independent School District. The police department employs 22 sworn officers, to pro-actively serve and protect the 14 N.F.I.S.D. Campuses, centers and administrative offices that span a jurisdiction of 33 square miles. The administrative organization is composed of the Chief of Police, Captain, a dedicated Internal Affairs / Professional Responsibility Sergeant, three Sergeants, three Corporals, 14 uniformed officers and 7 civilian support services personnel.
The Uniformed Law Enforcement Services and Communications center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with the help of 22 licensed police officers under the direction of North Forest ISD Police Chief. Some of the officers are assigned to various schools, patrol duties or communications, while others work as truancy officers, or incident investigators.
The North Forest ISD Police Department is currently establishing a diverse deployment of its resources, maximizing the department's ability to provide the most effective and modern police services possible.
