Congratulations to North Forest ISD’s Do The Write Thing finalists.
They are: Alundra Bailey and James Jackson (B.C. Elmore Middle School), Laporsche Charles and Devonta Corbin-Tatum (R.E. Kirby Middle School) and Leslie Moreno and Dion Barnes Jr. (Oak Village Middle School.)
Do the Write Thing, an initiative of the National Campaign to Stop Violence, gives middle school students an opportunity to examine the impact of youth violence on their lives. Through classroom discussions and writings, students communicate what they think should be done to reduce youth violence.
In addition, they make personal commitments to do something about this problem. NFISD would also like to acknowledge the teachers who work with these students on project. They are: Mrs. Carolyn Jordan and Ms. Janice Varnado (Elmore), Mrs. Betty Rasmus (Kirby) and Ms. Charity Morgan (Oak Village.) |
