School Hours
Elementary schools are in session from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The middle school schedule is 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. High school hours are 7:45 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Emergency School Closing
Any change in the regular schedule of the North Forest ISD will be announced over the following radio and television stations: KTRH, 740 AM; KCOH, 1430 AM; KKBQ, 930 AM; KIKK, 650 AM; KMJQ, 102.1 FM; KGOL, 1180 AM; KBXX, 97.9 FM; KHOU-TV, Channel 11; KTRK-TV, Channel 13; KPRC-TV, Channel 2; KRIV, Channel 26; KXLN, Channel 45 and KHWB, Channel 39.
Health Services
Students on all North Forest ISD campuses are served by school nurses; all of them are registered nurses. In addition to maintaining immunization records on all students, school nurses provide emergency health services. They also provide vision, hearing and scoliosis screening.
Transportation
North Forest ISD buses travel hundreds of thousands miles annually, transporting students both to and from school and school-related activities. All bus drivers hold commercial drivers licenses and have passed a state-required school bus driver certification program. As per state guidelines, the district provides transportation to students who reside at least two miles from the school they attend.
